EAS is a technological method to preventing shoplifting. It usually involves three major components:
- Electronic Antenna
- Deactivator or Detacher
- HardTag or Security Label
Special tags and labels are fixed to merchandise or books. These tags or labels are removed or “deactivated” at the cashier counter when the item is properly bought or checked out.
